ROCHESTER, N.Y. (October 26, 2012) – The Women's Soccer team will celebrate their Senior class in a pre-game ceremony tomorrow evening when they host Daemen College in their regular season finale at 7pm.
SCOUTING ROBERTS WESLEYAN (10-7-0/4-4-0 ECC)
The Redhawks took down St. Thomas Aquinas College, 4-1 last Saturday at home after scoring four first half goals.
Alison Kendall scored twice to earn her first two goals of the season. With the win, Roberts Wesleyan remained undefeated at home with a perfect 6-0-0 record in their friendly confines.
After several quiet games, junior Brittany Kinmond got back onto the score sheet with a goal and two assists. The forward now has 28 points (10 goals, 8 assists) to lead the Redhawks. Fellow transfer,
Briana Tata also notched a goal and two assists to up her points total to 13 on the season.
Senior 'keeper
Breanna Maggio now has 87 saves this season to go along with a .763 save percentage.
SCOUTING DAEMEN (6-9-0 Independent)
The Wildcats come into the game having split two games against East Coast Conference opponents. Most recently, Daemen fell 3-1 to St. Thomas Aquinas at home. Prior to that, the Wildcats took down NYIT, 3-2 on the road.
Junior midfielder Alexa Amato leads Daemen offensively with 16 points (7 goals, 2 assists) this season. Classmate Samantha Engel is right behind with 15 points (6 goals, 3 assists).
In goal, sophomore Kayla Hampton has gotten the majority of the starts this season, making 64 saves for the Wildcats. Hampton also has both of the teams shutouts to her credit.
UP NEXT
The Redhawks are assured a spot in the upcoming NCCAA East Region tournament, but the seedings for the National Championship qualifying tournament have yet to be determined.
