Women's Soccer Stumbles on Senior Night

Box Score (XML)

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (October 27, 2012) – The Women's Soccer team fell to Thruway rivals Daemen College, 1-0 in a rain soaked affair this evening.

The lone goal of the game came early when the Wildcats' Alexa Amato beat Breanna Maggio with a long blast from the right side, sending the ball just inside the left post in the 3rd minute. The goal was Amato's 10th of the season.

The shutout is even more disheartening as the Redhawks posted 23 shots in the game, putting nine of those on frame.

With the loss, Roberts Wesleyan ends the regular season with a 10-8-0 overall record and a 4-4-0 record in the East Coast Conference.  The loss was the Redhawks first at home this season.

The team now plays a waiting game to find out their fate for the upcoming NCCAA East Region tournament as other teams in the region wrap up the regular season this week. Most likely, the Redhawks will end up playing on the road for the first round.
