ERIE, Pa. (November 23, 2012) – The Men's Basketball team fell 66-45 to Gannon University this evening in the annual Gary Miller Classic.
Freshman
Tyrel Dixon led the Redhawks with a game-high 16 points after going 8 of 14 from the field to finish the night with a .571 shooting percentage. The young forward also grabbed four rebounds and made three steals.
Devin Grimes fell just one rebound short of a third consecutive double-double after completing the game with 10 points and nine rebounds.
As a team, the Rehawks went cold for most of the game, shooting just 28.6% from the field despite putting up 10 more shots than their counterparts.
Roberts Wesleyan, however, did create their share of scoring opportunities, by causing 29 turnovers while allowing just 19. The visitors also edged Gannon in steals, 9 to 7.
The loss drops the Redhawks to 1-2 on the season as they will face Virginia Union University tomorrow in the consolation game at 5:30pm.
