WASHINGTON, DC (November 4, 2012) – The Volleyball team swept the season series against the University of the District of Columbia this afternoon by winning 3-1 (25-14, 25-15, 15-25, 25-21) on the road in the nation's capital.
The Redhawks, who downed the Firebirds in three sets at home on Oct. 6, have now won three of their last four matches as they enter the final week of the regular season.
Leading the way for Roberts Wesleyan was
Alexa Antoni. The senior hitter finished the match with 11 kills, two aces, and assisted on three blocks. With the 11 kills, Antoni was able to surpass the 300 mark as her season kills total is now 303 through 98 sets.
Sophomores
Judy Schultz and
Jordan Wilson each added 10 kills for the Redhawks as the team is now 4-4 in matches going to four sets.
Maggie Concannon notched 35 assists while
Olivia Zureck was credited with a match high 17 digs.
With the win, the Redhawks improve to 14-10 overall and 9-4 in the East Coast Conference.
There are three more matches left in the regular season as the Redhawks visit Houghton College this Wednesday before hosting Molloy College on Friday and Queens College on Saturday.
