Women's Soccer Take On Nyack in NCCAA East Region Semi's Tonight

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (November 9, 2012) – The Women's Soccer team takes on Nyack College this evening at 6:30pm at Houghton College in the second semifinal game of the NCCAA East Region Tournament.

The Redhawks, if they advance, will take on the winner of the Houghton/Geneva (Pa.) College semifinal tomorrow afternoon in Houghton.

The tournament champion will receive an automatic bid to the NCCAA National Championship tournament in Kissimmee, Fla., which will take place later this month.

SCOUTING ROBERTS WESLEYAN (10-8-0/4-4-0 ECC)
The Redhawks are looking to get back into the win column after closing out the regular season with a 1-0 home loss to Thruway rivals, Daemen College on Oct. 27. Roberts Wesleyan did everything right, but score in the game, outshooting the Wildcats 23 to 7 as well edging out the visitors in corner kicks 4 to 2.

The team will look to junior Brittany Kinmond on offense as the forward was recently named to the East Coast Conference All-Conference Second Team earlier this week. Kinmond finished the regular season second in the ECC with 28 points (10 goals, 8 assists).

SCOUTING NYACK (8-8-2/7-4-1 CACC)
The Warriors come into this evening's match-up having lost a heartbreaker to Georgian Court (N.J.) University in the first round of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament. After going up 3-1 in the first half, the Warriors would give up two second half goals, forcing overtime. Georgian Court would go on to win in the ensuing penalty kick shootout to advance.

The Warriors are led by senior Stacey Cervantes's 23 points (8 goals, 7 assists) this season. Nyack's freshman Cyan Jean-Baptiste is second on the team with 17 points (8 goals, 1 assist) to go along with a .651 shots on goal percentage.

In goal, Nyack is led by sophomore Madeline Barbarino, who has 57 saves to her credit, as well as a.663 save percentage. Barbarino has appeared in 17 games this season while starting 16 of them.
