ROCHESTER, N.Y. (December 14, 2012) – The Women's Basketball team hits the road this weekend as they visit the University of the District of Columbia for a conference meeting on Saturday at 3pm.

Admission for the men's and women's doubleheader is $5 at the door. Visiting students of the opposing team, members of the military, and senior citizens (60 and older) are just $2. Children eight years old and younger are free.
SCOUTING ROBERTS WESLEYAN (6-2/1-0 ECC)
The Redhawks opened up their inaugural East Coast Conference schedule with a 73-43 win over Mercy College last Saturday at home. Sophomore
Marissa Sell came off the bench to lead Roberts Wesleyan with a game-high 18 points in addition to grabbing eight rebounds.
Freshman forward Samantha Courtnet leads Roberts Wesleyan through eight games with 11.9 points per game and 7.6 rebounds per game. Senior
Brittany Williams is right behind with 11.4 points per game.
From the guard position,
Ashley Cianfriglia is averaging 8.0 points per game and is second on the team with 27 assists. Senior
Marissa Bunce leads the Redhawks with 36 assists and also leads the team in scoring from beyond the arc.
As a team, Roberts Wesleyan has out-rebounded their opponents 350 to 315 this season, averaging 43.8 rebounds per game. The Redhawks also have a +2.1 turnover margin as they average 15.8 turnovers while stealing the ball at a rate of 12.3 times per game.
The Redhawks are shooting 43.1% from the field as they are averaging 73.2 points per game, which is second best in the ECC in both categories thus far.
SCOUTING DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA (4-5/0-1 ECC)
The Firebirds come into Saturday's game having lost two straight after winning three consecutive contests. In their last game, UDC fell to Nova Southeastern (Fla.) University by the score of 78-50.
Senior guard Janelle Junior leads UDC with 12.9 points per game through nine games this season as she is shooting 48.3% from the field and a solid 38.8% from long range. Sophomore Denikka Brent is also in the double-digits with 10.9 points per game.
On the boards, junior forward Robin Keke leads the Firebirds with 6.6 rebounds per game while Tatyana Calhoun is averaging 6.0 rebounds.
As a team, the Firebirds are averaging 64.2 points per game and are shooting 39.6% from the field.
UP NEXT
Roberts Wesleyan will have plenty of time to rest during the holidays as they are off until Jan. 3 when they travel to the University of Bridgeport for a 5pm game. They will then visit Saint Thomas Aquinas College two days later in Sparkill, N.Y.
The next home game isn't until Wednesday, Jan. 9 when the Redhawks host LIU Post at 6pm.
