Men's Lacrosse Lose to Molloy

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (March 17, 2012) ­– The Men's Lacrosse team fell 11-2 to the Molloy College Lions this afternoon.

The two goal output is the lowest of the season for the Raiders. Only Colin Cornaire and Craig Petit were able to find the back of the net for the Raiders. The goals came back-to-back in the second period to make a 5-2 lead for Molloy.

Molloy (4-1) were able to shut down David Smith, the Raiders leading goal scorer, holding him to only seven shot and no shots on goal.

Matt Hamilton was kept busy in goal, making a season-best 15 saves in the game. Both teams notched 35 shots, but the difference was
Molly put 26 shots on frame compared to the Raiders 16.

Face-off specialist Anthony Nucci Lauria lost the face-off battle for the first time this season, winning only eight of 17 changes.

The Lions had five goal-scorers in the game with Kenny Lutz leading the way with five goals.

With the loss, the Raiders fall to 1-4.

The team will look to rebound at home when they host Medaille College on Thursday, March 29 at 6:00pm.
