ROCHESTER, N.Y. (March 27, 2012) – The Women's Lacrosse team lost to Monroe Community College Tribunes this afternoon, 15-10.
The Raiders took the lead early on after
Theresa Catteau scored two minutes into the game. The Raiders would extend their lead to three when
Alison Kendall scored an unassisted goal at the 10:16 mark, making it a 6-3 lead.
The home team held the lead until MCC's Melissa Smith scored the equalizer with 2:27 remaining in the first period to make it 7-7.
The Tribunes took control in the second stanza by scoring three straight goals midway through the period to make it a 13-9 lead with 16:16 remaining.
With 15:10 left, Catteau got one back to make it 13-10, but it wasn't enough as the Raiders were unable to mount a comeback.
The Raiders were led by
Alison Kendall's three goals.
Kara Farnsworth,
Alex Phillips, and Catteau each added two goals apiece while
Vanessa Sell scored once.
The Tribune's Courtney Reuter scored a game high five goals.
The loss puts the Raiders record at 2-5 on the season.
The team will look to get back on track next week when they host SUNYIT on Monday, April 2 at 5pm.
