Women's Lacrosee Win Big Over SUNY Canton, 16-6

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (April 13, 2012) – The Women's Lacrosse team picked up a solid win this afternoon, winning 16-6 against the visiting SUNY Canton Kangaroos in their final home game of the season.

The Raiders have now won three of their last four games and are now one game under .500 with two games left in the season.

The home team left little doubt early on as the Raiders burst out to a 7-1 lead with 17 minutes left on the clock in the first half.  In the half,
Alison Kendall lit up the scoreboard, scoring five of the Raiders 11 first half goals. Kendall would finish the day with a game-high 8 goals and now has 50 to her credit this season.

In the second half, the Raiders continued to dominate, scoring five goals with three coming from Kendall.
As a team, the Raiders were successful with the free-position shots, scoring five times.

The Raiders also dominated the draws, winning the draw 15 times to Canton's eight draw controls. Junior Lindsay Kendall led the team with three draws.

Other goals for the Raiders came from Threresa Catteau (four goals), Vanessa Sell (three goals), and Kara Farnsworth (one goal).

In goal, Stehpanie McClure made nine saves on 15 shots to earn the win.

The Raiders are now 5-6 on the season and wrap up the season on the road. Next Saturday, the team will face the Rochester Institute of
Technology at 4pm and will then close out the season with a re-match against Monroe CC on Tuesday, April 24 at 4pm.
