ROCHESTER, N.Y. (September 11, 2012) – The Redhawks will take on Le Moyne College for the second time this season in an evening match-up on the road in Syracuse.
The Dolphins took down the Redhawks in a close 5-set affair at the IUP Crimson Hawk Invitational during the first weekend on the season.
Last season, the Redhawks defeated Le Moyne in five sets for Roberts Wesleyan's home opener.
SCOUTING ROBERTS WESLEYAN (3-4/0-0 ECC)
On Saturday, the Redhawks split two matches at the Tony Banner Memorial Invitational at Clarion (Pa.) University. In their first match, Roberts Wesleyan lost 3-1 to the hosts before taking down Shepherd (W.Va.) University in five sets.
Senior hitter
Alexa Antoni has been solid this season, leading the Redhawks with 92 kills and has accumulated 106.5 points. Fellow senior hitter
Gisela Ocasio is second with 70 kills and is second with 87 digs.
SCOUTING LE MOYNE (4-2/0-0 NE-10)
The Dolphins won two matches in their home opening tri-match against Chestnut Hill and Mercy over the weekend. Le Moyne has won four straight since the opening weekend when they lost two matches on the opening day of the Crimson Hawk Invitational.
Senior outside hitter
Bethany Fabian (Lake View, N.Y.) leads the Dolphins in kills with 58 and digs with 101. Senior middle hitter
Morgan McDermott (Camillus, N.Y.) has 51 kills with an attack percentage of .402.
UP NEXT
The Redhawks host their East Coast Conference opener this Friday in a later afternoon affair when they host Dowling College at 4:30pm. Last season, Dowling advanced to the NCAA East Region semifinals, losing to fellow ECC member, Bridgeport.
The following day, the Redhawks will take on NCCAA East Region rivals, Houghton College for a noon match-up.
