ROCHESTER, N.Y. (September 19, 2012) - Freshmen
Charles Farres and
Robert Beer won their matches at first and second singles and first doubles to lead the Redhawks to a 7-2 win over Alfred University in a home match this afternoon.
Farres and Beer teamed to win 8-1 at first doubles against Connor Dowd and Peter Benoit. Farres then beat Dowd at first singles 6-3 6-1, while Beer took out Peter Benoit at second singles 6-0 6-1.
At second doubles, Roberts got an 8-2 win from
Jordan Sadowitz and
Emanuel Rauchle. Sadowitz then went on to defeat Mike Graham at third singels 6-1 6-1. Rauchle scored an 6-0 6-0 victory at fourth singles ove Daniel Baruch.
Beka Buchukuri closed out the scoring for RWC with a 6-2 6-0 win at fifth singles.
The Redhawks will take a 4-1 record into the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Individual Championships this weekend in Philadelphia, PA. The tournament hosts the top teams in the NCAA East Region.
