BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (September 23, 2012) - The Lady Redhawks end their 6 game winning streak with a loss of 3-0 in Long Island.
The Redhawks traveled to Long Island this weekend to take on the LIU Post Pioneers. In the 12
th minute of the first half, LIU scored off a rebound in the box, providing them with a 1-0 lead.
In the second half, the Pioneers would continue to score two more goals— a 20-yard shot in the 51
st minute and a flying header in the 66
th.
Overall, LUI outshot the Redhawks 23-9 and also had the advantage in corner kicks (6-3).
Goalkeepers
Breanna Maggio and
Marissa Sell had combined total of 5 saves, but in the end the Pioneers came out on top by 3.
With the loss, the Redhawks' overall record is 7-3. The team plays again this Wednesday, September 26, at Edinboro, PA.
