Volleyball Travels to Clarion (Pa.) University on Saturday

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (September 7, 2012) – The Redhawks travel to Clarion (Pa.) University tomorrow for a pair of matches at Clarion's Tony Banner Memorial Invitational.
 
The team will face the hosts at 1pm, followed by a 5:30pm match against Shepherd (W.Va.) University.
 
SCOUTING ROBERTS WESLEYAN (2-3/0-0 ECC)
The Redhawks won their home opener on Wednesday night, defeating Medaille College in four sets to improve to 2-3 on the season.
 
Senior hitter Alexa Antoni lead the team with 13 kills and had nine digs. Gisela Ocasio had a successful match as well with a total of 10 kills and 14 digs.
 
Roberts Wesleyan has yet to finish a match in three sets so far this season.
 
SCOUTING CLARION (2-2/0-0 PSAC)
The Golden Eagles recently dropped two matches at the Ferris (Mich.) State Invitational after having won two straight to open the 2012 season.
 
Clarion's Hannah Heeter (Seneca, Pa.) leads the team with 48 kills through four matches, including a season high of 17 kills in a loss to four-set loss to Ferris State on Saturday.
 
SCOUTING SHEPHERD (3-1/0-0WVIAC)
The Rams suffered their first loss of the season to Roberts Wesleyan's former conference rivals, Point Park (Pa.) University on Saturday at the Fairmont (W.Va.) State Tournament.
 
Meg Kenny (Lynchburg, Va.) and Kayla Walker (Palmyra, Va.) have been the main sources of offense for the Shepherd with each player having recorded 29 kills thus far.
 
UP NEXT
Roberts Wesleyan will travel to Le Moyne College next Tuesday (Sep. 11) for a 7pm match. The Redhawks will then take on Dowling College three days later on Friday (Sep. 14) in their first-ever East Coast Conference match.
