Women's Basketball: Molloy Gets By Redhawks, 71-62

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (January 17, 2013) – The Women's Basketball team fell on the road to Molloy College this evening, 71-62, in East Coast Conference action.

The difference in the game was Molloy's Ashley Addison and Christina Marra getting hot from beyond the arc. Both players hit four shots from three-point range to give the Lions a three-point field goal percentage of 40.0%.

Roberts Wesleyan did their best to keep things close as they managed to head into the locker room at the half tied 33-33.
Molloy, however, would score first out of the break and never surrendered the lead.

The Redhawks were led senior guard Marissa Bunce who scored a team high 17 points after going 7 of 16 from the field.

The 17-point output matches her season-high which was set back on Jan. 5 on the road against St. Thomas Aquinas College.

Brittany Williams added 10 points for Roberts Wesleyan while Christina Healy added a season-best nine points after shooting 44.4% from the field.

As a team, the Redhawks were out-rebounded 42-39 in the game as Ikema Ross and Alex Hampton grabbed 13 and 11 boards respectively for Molloy. Freshman Samantha Courtney hauled in seven rebounds for the Redhawks.

The loss drops Roberts Wesleyan to 8-6 overall and 3-4 in the ECC.

The Redhawks are back in action this Saturday when they visit Queens College with tip-off set for 2pm.
