FLUSHING, N.Y. (January 19, 2013) – The Men's Basketball team suffered a 75-66 loss to Queens College this afternoon in their second road game of the week.

Things were going well for the visitors in the first half until Queens chisled away at an eight point Redhawks lead when the score was 22-14 with 9:40 left in the half. Eventually, the Knights took the lead for good with 4:40 on the clock when Pat Piasecki scored to make it a 29-28 ball game.

The Redhawks chased the home team the rest of the way en route to their sixth consecutive loss.

Freshman Tyrel Dixon put up solid numbers for Roberts Wesleyan by scoring 17 points after hitting 7 of 9 from the field. From the free-throw line, the forward was 3 of 5.

Devin Grimes posted another double-double by scoring 13 points and grabbing 12 rebounds for the Redhawks.  The forward now has nine double-doubles this season.

Guard Herbert Alexander added 10 points for the visitors by going 3 of 5 from the field and 4 of 6 at the charity stripe.

As a team, the Redhawks shot the ball well in the first half, going into the locker room with a 59.1% field goal percentage. Queens also shot well in the first 20 minutes with an even 50% field goal percentage. Both teams cooled off in the second half as they each shot 43% from the field.

The difference in the game was the sharp shooting by the Knights from beyond the arc as they hit seven from long range compared to Roberts Wesleyan's four three-pointers.

The loss drops the Redhawks to 5-11 overall and 2-6 in ECC play.

Roberts Wesleyan is off until Wednesday when they host the University of Bridgeport at 8pm.
