ROCHESTER, N.Y. (January 23, 2013) – The Men's Basketball team fell to the University of Bridgeport, 74-70, in an East Coast Conference match-up this evening.

The Redhawks made a furious comeback late in the game to make things interesting for the visitors. After trailing 67-50 with 7:44 remaining, Roberts Wesleyan went on a 22-7 run to close out the game.

Senior Devin Grimes was a monster on the boards for the Redhawks, grabbing 21 rebounds in the game to go along with a team-high 18 points.

The program record for most rebounds in a game was set by Bill Bachmann in the 1964-65 season when the Athletic Hall of Fame member hauled in 33 rebounds against Ithaca College.

Other players to score in double-figures for the Redhawks were Mike Stone with 17 points and William Bromirksi with 16 points.

Perhaps the most glaring stat was the lack of bench scoring for Roberts Wesleyan as Bridgeport's bench out-scored the Redhawks bench 25-2.

Roberts Wesleyan was opportunistic as they edged Bridgeport 18 to 3 on second chance points.

Roberts Wesleyan was solid from the free-throw line as they shot 77.8%, but only went to the line nine times compared to 25 times by the Purple Knights.

The loss drops the Redhawks to 5-12 overall and 2-7 in the East Coast Conference.

Roberts Wesleyan is back in action this Saturday when they host the University of the District of Columbia with tip-off scheduled for 4pm.
