Volleyball Defeats American Int'l in Four Sets

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (October 13, 2013) – Junior middle blocker Kendall Havener  paced Roberts Wesleyan with 15 kills and eight digs in their 3-1 non-conference win against American International College.

The win was the Redhawks second on the weekend as they wrapped up a two-match road swing.

After falling 25-12 in the first set, the visitors managed to win the next three by scores of 25-16, 25-19, 25-22.

Havener, who recorded 20 kills on Saturday against Mercy College, posted 15 kills on 35 attempts to finish with a hitting percentage of .400. Defensively, Havener had five blocks (1 solo, 4 assists).

Freshman Alexandre Tahauri finished the match with 12 kills while tallying 11 digs.

Maggie Concannon chipped in 45 assists as Olivia Zurek had match-high 19 digs.

The win improves Roberts Wesleyan's overall record to 6-8 as they are off until Friday when they host Queens College at 7pm inside the Voller Athletic Center.
