Volleyball Takes Down Queens in Four Sets

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (October 18, 2013) – The Volleyball team earned their first conference home win of the season this evening as they defeated Queens College, 3-1.

After dropping the first set, Roberts Wesleyan managed to with the next three to earn a hard fought match 22-25, 25-23, 25-18, 27-25.

In the final set, the Redhawks were able to rally for the win after trailing 23-18.  Roberts Wesleyan won nine of the next 11 point to seal the come-from-behind win.

Leading on offense for Roberts Wesleyan was Jordan Wilson, who stacked up a match-high 16 kills. Teammate Judy Schultz added 13 kills as Corey Phillips chipped in another 10 kills.

Phillips, a senior, also added seven digs in the match.

The win gives the Redhawks a 3-2 record in four-set matches this season. Overall, the team improves to 7-8 and 2-5 in the East Coast Conference.

Roberts Wesleyan is back in action Saturday afternoon when they entertain Molloy College at 12pm inside the Voller Athletic Center.
