Rochester, N.Y. (October 20, 2013) – Women's soccer pushed past Dowling College this afternoon to win their second home game this weekend.
Robert's and Dowling college were evenly matched, close in standings and similar conference records. Roberts was able to capitalize early on with a corner by
Bella Mitrevski that was successfully headed in by
Mandi Hochheimer  Roberts
held on to the lead throughout the first half.
Dowling attacked often, but were held at bay by Roberts's defensive line with
Heaven Palamitia and
Christina Burke as the center backs for Roberts.Â
Marissa Sell totaled 12 saves to help the Redhawk's defensively. Â
Robert's second goal came in the 52
nd minute.
Ellie Swan was fouled by Dowling's goal keeper after the play.
Bella Mitrevski took the penalty kick to score for Roberts. This goal was followed shortly by a goal from Dowling College off of a free kick in the 53th minute. Roberts was able to keep the lead through the end of the game despite the highly physical play. Several players from each side were injured.
The Redhawks play again this Wednesday at home 10/23 against Lock Haven at 6:00pm
