Women's Soccer Drops Game to LIU Post

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (October 4, 2013) – The Women's Soccer team fell to LIU Post this afternoon, 6-1, in their first conference road game.

The Redhawks got on the board first when Ellie Swan headed the ball past the Pioneers goalkeeper off of a cross from Bella Mitrevski in the ninth minute.

The visitors were unable to keep the lead as LIU Post dominated the rest of the way.

Alexa Niciforo tied the game in the 16th minute before Suzanne Vistnes scored the eventual game-winner in the 32nd minute for the Pioneers. Niciforo and Vistnes each scored twice for LIU Post.

In goal, Marissa Sell was pelted with 15 shots in the game, making 10 saves for the Redhawks.

The loss is the first in conference play as they fall to 3-1 in the East Coast Conference and 6-3 overall. Roberts Wesleyan has yet to win a road game in three attempts this season.

The team will try to pick up their first win on the road on Sunday when they visit New York Institute of Technology for a 12pm game.
