Volleyball Falls to Dowling - Roberts Wesleyan University Athletics

Rochester, N.Y. (October 5, 2013) - The Volleyball team fell to Dowling College this afternoon in a back and fourth game lasting 5 sets (25-23, 16-25, 25-20, 12-25, 13-15)

Kendal Havener finished with finesse as she gained set winning point for the first set. She had 12 kills overall and was pivotal in keeping the Redhawks in the game. The second set was a tough loss, Roberts struggled to get on the board.

In the third set Roberts came from behind to stay a set ahead. Jordan Wilson was a stand out with 13 kills. Corey Phillips had a game high of 3 aces, and helped her team with 12 kills. Dowling answered with a definitive win of the fourth set to tie it up.

Defensively Olivia Zureck posted a game high of 19 digs.

In the 5th set, the Redhawks worked hard to rally from behind, but were unable to catch Dowling in the end. This was a tough defeat for Roberts as they had lost the night before to Bridgeport in four sets. Roberts hopes to put this weekend behind them as they hit the road to play Mercy College Saturday October 12th at 12pm and American Int'l on Sunday October 13th at 12pm.
