OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. (October 6, 2013) – The Women's Soccer team downed New York Institute of Technology, 2-1, in double overtime this afternoon.

The win marks the first road victory for the Redhawks this season as well as their first overtime game of the year.

After a scoreless first half, the Bears got on the board first when Meghan Stoll scored in the 49th minute when she sent a rebounded chip shot to the back of the goal.

In the 64th minute, freshman Bella Mitrevski scored the equalizer in the form of a header off of a crossing pass from Kristina Roberts.

Senior forward Brittany Foster then scored the game-winner in the final minute of the second overtime period after a cross into the box drew out NYIT's goalkeeper, giving Foster an open look in front of the net.

The goal was Foster's seventh goal of the season and second game-winner for Roberts Wesleyan.

In goal, #Kate Perry played the final 60 minutes to earn the win for the Redhawks after making five saves over that span.

The win improves Roberts Wesleyan to 7-3 overall and 4-1 in the East Coast Conference.

The Redhawks are off until Monday, Oct. 14 when they travel to face Franklin Pierce (N.H.) University in a non-conference game.
