Volleyball Continues Rally with Fourth Straight Win

Flushing, N.Y. (November 17, 2013) – Volleyball notches another win on their way to NCCAA East Region Tournament play. Roberts come out with a win this afternoon against Queens College in 4 sets (27-29, 25 -20, 25-15, 25 - 18)  This was Roberts last conference game. 
While Queens won a hard fought first set, Roberts was able to come back to get the win. Interestingly Roberts and Queens tied in total attacks, However, Roberts was able to capitalize on thier opportunities. In the second and third set Roberts only allowed 1 tie score and 1 lead change. compared to the first set where there was 19 ties nad 9 lead changes. The last set as also hard fought for Roberts, in the end they were able to pull out the win. 
 Cory Phillips led the match in kills totaling 14 kills, she also led her team in digs (14)  Kendall Havener, who is currently second in standings for hitting percentage, totaled 10 kills. She also had a match high hitting percentage of .368. Havener also had a team high of 3 solo blocks. Ashley Roxbrough also helped defensively for Roberts totaling 13 digs for Roberts. 
This Is Roberts fourth straight win, and a great way to end conference play. The Redhawks season continues as they look next week to play in NCCAA East Region tournament with details TBA. Continue to check Athletics.Roberts.edu to see when and where Volleyball will be playing.
