OAKDALE, N.Y. (November 2, 2013) – The Volleyball team fell on the road this afternoon to Dowling, 3-1, in East Coast Conference play.
The visiting Redhawks battled Dowling close throughout the match, but managed to win just the third set of the match. The final scores of the four sets were 25-27, 19-25, 25-23, 19-25.
Senior outside hitter
Corey Phillips led Roberts Wesleyan with 14 kills, just one shy of the match-high set by Dowling's Katarzyna Klocek.
Junior middle blocker
Kendall Havener chipped in 12 kills off of 25 attempts to finish the day with a .360 hitting percentage. Havener also tallied four block assists for the Redhawks.
The loss drops Roberts Wesleyan to 7-13 overall and 2-10 in the conference. The team now heads north to take on the University of Bridgeport for a match tomorrow at 1pm.
