Women's Soccer Falls to Mercy in Last Conference Game

Dobbs Ferry, NY (November 3, 2013) - Women's Soccer Falls to Mercy College 2-0 this afternoon in the last game of regular conference play. Mercy, second in standings, was able to edge out Roberts in the highly competitive match.  Roberts and
Mercy had tied conference records (6-2) going into today's game.

The first half of the game was left tied 0 – 0. Roberts was out shot by Mercy and totaled 2 shots in the first half to Mercy's 5. Roberts was unable to get a shot on goal. Roberts goal Keeper Marissa Sell notched 5 saves for the game.  Sell currently leads the ECC in saves.  Roberts was unable to capitalize on any opportunities.

Both Mercy goals came in the second half, in the 67th and 86th minute. Roberts again totaled 2 shots, but were unable to finish. Mercy's goalie remained untested throughout the match. Senior forward  Brittany Foster  led Roberts in shots with 2 shots.

The Redhawks look to put this loss behind them as they get ready for play offs. Roberts finished with a tie for 3rd in the ECC, but will play in the NCCAA tournament where they also finished third.  Roberts will face Mount Vernon in the first round of play offs for NCCAA.
