ROCHESTER, N.Y. (December 2, 2013) – The Men's Basketball team is set to take on Nazareth College in opening round game in the Wendy's College Classic this week. Roberts Wesleyan will visit the Golden Flyers Wednesday evening with tip-off slated for 8pm.
The Redhawks, who were seeded sixth in the eight-team tournament, enters the Classic with a 2-2 record as Nazareth was given the third seed with a 3-0 record.
Junior transfer
Isaac Medeiros has been productive in his first year at Roberts Wesleyan as he averages a double-double with 22 points and 15 rebounds per game. The forward is shooting 51.4% from the field while blocking a team-high eight shots thus far.
For the Golden Flyers, senior forward Brad Ford leads the team in scoring with an average of 23.3 points per game while averaging 11.3 rebounds. Ford is shooting 54.8% from the field and has a solid 80% at the free-throw line.
Nazareth has outscored their opponents by a margin of nearly 20 points through their first three games this season. Â
The winner of the game will advance to the semifinals against the winner of the Hobart College/University of Rochester game, which will be played at Roberts Wesleyan on Friday at 8pm.
For the loser, they will play in the first consolation game at the Rochester Institute of Technology on Friday at 6pm.
