ROCHESTER, N.Y. (December 7, 2013) – The Men's Basketball team fell 81-52 to the College at Brockport in the Wendy's College Classic championship game this evening.

The appearance in the final was the first for Roberts Wesleyan since the 1999-00 season when they fell to St. John Fisher College.

Things got away from the Redhawks early on when Brockport went on a dominating 19-4 run over an eight minute span midway through the first half.

The Golden Eagles never looked back as they manage to win their first title since the 2001-02 tournament.

Tournament MVP Brandon Caruthers led Brockport with 15 points after going 5 of 12 including 4 of 5 at the free-throw line.

For the Redhawks, Patrick Downer and Tyrel Dixon were named to the All-Classic team. In the game, Downers scored 15 points while earning the double-double with 10 rebounds.

Dixon added 10 points while hauling in six boards for the Redhawks.

The loss puts Roberts Wesleyan at 4-3 on the season as they resume East Coast Conference action next weekend when they travel to take on New York Institute of Technology on Saturday and LIU Post on Sunday.
