Women's Basketball Set to Host Molloy Saturday

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (February 15, 2013) – The Women's Basketball game host Molloy College Saturday afternoon at 2pm in the Voller Athletic Center.
 
This will be the second meeting between the two programs this season with the Lions having won the first game, 71-62, back on Jan. 17.
 
TICKETS
Tickets are $3 at the door and are valid for the doubleheader with the men's game following at 4pm. Roberts Wesleyan College/Northeastern Seminary faculty, staff, and students are free with a valid College ID.
 
SCOUTING ROBERTS WESLEYAN (11-11/6-8 ECC)
The Redhawks are looking to get back into the win column and even the season series against Molloy. After defeating LIU Post for the second time this season on Feb. 10, Roberts Wesleyan fell to nationally ranked Dowling College on Monday.
 
Sophomore forward Marissa Sell has been playing well since returning from a finger injury in mid-January. In the month of February, Sell is averaging 12.5 points per game and is shooting 43.2% and a solid 70.6% at the free-throw line.
 
On the boards, Sell is averaging 9.7 rebounds per game, which ranks her second in the East Coast Conference alongside Molloy's Ikema Ross.
 
Senior Brittany Williams is 10th in the ECC with her 70.2% free-throw shooting percentage while classmate Marissa Bunce ranks sixth in the conference with her nearly four assists per game average.
 
SCOUTING MOLLOY (7-14/3-10 ECC)
The Lions are also trying to finish the season strong as the team has lost five straight games. Their last win came on Jan. 23 when Molloy downed Mercy College, 70-53.
 
Offensively, the Lions are led by Ashley Addison's 9.4 points per game. The senior guard is shooting 35.1% from the field on the season. Right behind is both Kelly Guerriero and Alex Hampton who are averaging 9.3 points per game.
 
As a team, Molloy leads the ECC with an average of seven three-points shots made per game while averaging a league-high 22.8 three-point attempts per game.
 
UP NEXT
Roberts Wesleyan will step out of conference play on Tuesday evening when they travel to take on Houghton College at 7pm.
 
The Redhawks will then wrap up the regular season at home with Saturday games on Feb. 23 against Queens College and Mar. 2 against New York Institute of Technology.
