Men's Basketball Falls to Queens, 76-65

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (February 23, 2013) – The Men's Basketball team fell to the Queens College Knights this evening, 76-65.
The game was an evenly matched affair as there were a total of 10 ties and 15 lead changes.

It was the visitors, however, that found a way to break away from Roberts Wesleyan down the stretch. The Knights were able to close out the game with a 23-8 run over the final seven minutes to secure the victory.

Freshman Tyrel Dixon led the way for the Redhawks with 18 points and 11 rebounds in addition to making six assists and a steal. The forward was clutch from the field, hitting 7 of 10 shots.

William Bromirski added 12 points after connecting on four shots from long range.

Junior swingman #Patrick Downer added eight points to go along with 12 rebounds. Downer also had two assists, a blocked shot, and a steal.

Senior Devin Grimes made his return after a lengthy sidelining shoulder injury by scoring nine points and grabbing six rebounds.

For Queens, Patrick Parker netted a game-high 23 points as George Holmes added 19 points.

The loss drops Roberts Wesleyan to 7-18 overall and 4-13 in East Coast Conference play.

The regular season finale is next Saturday when they host New York Institute of Technology at 4pm. The game is a part of the annual Alumni Day and Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony. The induction is scheduled to take place during halftime.
