Men's Tennis Wins ECC Opener, 7-2

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (February 25, 2013) – The Men's Tennis team won their East Coast Conference opener on Saturday, defeating St. Thomas Aquinas College, 7-2.

Charles Farres picked up wins at second singles as well as first doubles for the visitors. Farres defeated the Spartans' Inigo Aldekoa, 6-2 6-2, in singles play after teaming up with Sam Thorold to take down Antione Venard and Stanislay Margarchenko, 8-1, in doubles.

At first singles, Beka Buchukuri edged out Margarchenko, 7-6 (4), 6-1, while Jordan Sadowitz downed Daniel Maysonet, 7-6 (4), 6-0.

The match marked Roberts Wesleyan's first ever official East Coast Conference match.

The win improves the Redhawks to 10-2 on the year and 1-0 in the ECC.

Roberts Wesleyan is off until Mar. 6 when they visit the University of Rochester at 4pm.
