Men's Basketball Looks to Get Back Into Win Column Wednesday Night

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (February 5, 2013) – The Men's Basketball team hosts St. Thomas Aquinas College in a mid-week game Wednesday evening at 8pm.

TICKETS
Tickets are $3 at the door and are good for the doubleheader with the women's game 6pm. Roberts Wesleyan College/Northeastern Seminary faculty, staff, and students are free with a valid College ID.
 
SCOUTING ROBERTS WESLEYAN (6-14/3-9 ECC)
Roberts Wesleyan will look to even the season series against the Spartans tonight. In their first meeting, the Redhawks fell 85-73.
 
With Devin Grimes out of the line-up due to injury, freshman Tyrel Dixon has stepped up to lead the team in rebounding. In the last two games, Dixon has led the team, averaging 10 boards per game. The swingman is also seventh in the ECC with 1.8 steals per game.
 
Mike Stone continues to be a presence from long range. The sophomore is shooting 44.2% from three-point range, placing him second in the ECC.
 
SCOUTING ST. THOMAS AQUINAS (4-16/4-7 ECC)
The Spartans have dropped three-straight since defeating Dowling College, 68-66, on Jan. 26 as they are looking to secure a post-season berth in the East Coast Conference tournament.
 
 Justin Brown, a senior, leads St. Thomas Aquinas with 17.6 points per game after starting all 20 games this season. The guard ranks second in the conference in total points and third in the ECC in points per game. Brown is shooting 77.1% at the free-throw line for the Spartans.
 
On the boards, junior forward Omar Kellman leads the team with an average of 8.6 rebounds per game. Kellman also averages 1.5 blocks per game and has 30 blocks on the season.
 
As a team, St. Thomas Aquinas is second in the conference with free-throws made per game (15.8).
 
UP NEXT
The Redhawks travel to Brookville, N.Y. for a Saturday game against LIU Post before heading to Dowling      College for a rare Monday game.
 
Roberts Wesleyan will then return home for a game against Molloy College on Saturday, Feb. 16.
The team will close out the season at home with games against Queens College (Feb. 23), and NYIT (Mar. 2).
