Women's Basketball Wraps Up Season With Win

WINONA LAKE, Ind. (March 15, 2013) – The Women's Basketball team closed out the NCCAA National Championships with a 59-55 win over Grace (Ind.) College in the 7th Place game.

Both teams were competitive, with the largest lead of the game being just eight points by the Redhawks late in the second half. There were a total of four lead changes with the teams tying the score 11 times.

After the game was tied up at 48-48, Marissa Bunce hit a three-pointer with 4:12 remaining in the game to give the Redhawks the lead for good.

Freshman forward Samantha Courtney scored a team-high 13 points after going 6 of 7 from the field while blocking two shots while playing just 19 minutes.

Bunce and fellow senior Brittany Williams each added 11 points in their final game for the Redhawks. Bunce also finished with a game-high six assists.

Sophomore Marissa Sell scored nine points while posting a team-high eight rebounds.

Grace's Juaneice Jackson scored a game-high 21 points in addition to recording three assists, two steals, and one blocked shots.

The win gives Roberts Wesleyan a 16-14 overall record to finish the season.
