Men's Lacrosse Drops Road Game at Chestnut Hill

LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. (March 23, 2013) – Led by a nine-goal first period, the Chestnut Hill College Griffins clipped  the Redhawks, 18-8, in conference action this afternoon.
 
The visitors fell into a hole quickly as Chestnut Hill scored the first the goals before Dom Cianfarano scored at the 7:34 mark to make it a 3-1 game.

However, the Griffins would then score the next eight straight goals to take a commanding 11-1 lead before Cianfarano got one back five minutes into the second period.

On the day, Cianfarno and Ian Nash eached scored twice while adding one assist each. Fellow freshman Cody Lewis scored once while adding on two others.

Faceoff specialist Anthony Nucci Lauria excelled at the 'X', winning 19 of 25 attempts while leading the Redhawks with seven groundballs.

Matt Hamilton made six saves while playing 45 minutes in the loss before Keith Keehn played the final 15 minutes, recording two save.

Chestnut Hill's Michael Melnychnko scored a game-high five goals off of six shots while notching three assists.

The loss drops Roberts Wesleyan to 3-5 on the season and 0-2 in East Coast Conference play.

The Redhawks will look to earn the upset on Wednesday when they host defending national champions, Dowling College, this Wednesday at 4pm.
