ROCHESTER, N.Y. (March 28, 2013) – The Women's Lacrosse team picked up a 15-1 win this afternoon against the visiting Wells College Express.
The Redhawks dominated the contest as freshmen
Ali Fox and
Loren Dunn each scored a hat-trick. In all, nine players scored for the home team.
Fox scored her three goals off of just five shots to go along with two caused turnovers and three groundballs. Dunn shot the ball seven times in addition to winning two draws.
Kelsey Covel and
Marissa Sell each scored twice for Roberts Wesleyan as both players picked up four ground balls.
In goal,
Victoria Link earned the win after making six saves while playing the first 30 minutes before
Stephanie McClure played the second half. McClure, a senior, was credited with three saves.
As a team, the Redhawks pressured Wells the entire game, out-shooting the visitors 36 to 12.
Wells' lone goal game from Madeline Bass, who opened the game with a quick goal in just 40 seconds into the game.
The win lifts the Roberts Wesleyan's record to 5-3 overall as they prepare for another non-conference game this Saturday when they host Grand Valley (Mich.) State at 11am.
