ROCHESTER, N.Y. (March 5, 2013) – The Men's Basketball team hosts Houghton College in the NCCAA East Region final Wednesday evening at 8pm. The winner of the game advances to the NCCAA National Tournament, which is scheduled for Mar. 13-16 at Grace College in Winona Lake, Ind.

Tickets to the game are $3 at the door and are valid for both the men's game and the women's game, which starts at 6pm. Roberts Wesleyan College/Northeastern Seminary faculty, staff, and students are free with a valid College ID.
SCOUTING ROBERTS WESLEYAN (7-19/4-14 ECC)
The Redhawks are looking to finish the season on a high note after having lost their last five games. Most recently, Roberts Wesleyan fell to NYIT 75-56 on Saturday in their regular season finale.
Freshman
Tyrel Dixon has been playing at a high level all season and finished the regular season averaging 11.9 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. The forward also finished the season with a team-high 310 points after seeing action in all 26 games.
Sophomore
Mike Stone completed his second season with a solid 41.2% shooting percentage from three-point range in addition to shooting 39.2% from the field.
SCOUTING HOUGHTON (1-24/1-15 E8)
The Highlanders earned their lone win of the season in thrilling fashion on Feb. 9 when they defeated Alfred University at home, 89-85, in overtime. Mark O'Brien led the team with 27 points as Chris Confair and Seth Shay each netted 20 points.
Confair, a senior, leads Houghton on offense with his 14.0 points per game. O'Brien is right behind with 13.0 points per game and is the team's primary three-point shooter as he is shooting 27.4% from long range.
Confair also leads the team with 6.0 rebounds per game while the team averages 33.3 rebound per game.
UP NEXT
The winner of the game will receive the East Region's automatic qualifying bid to the NCCAA National Tournament, which is held on the campus of Grace College in Winona Lake, Ind. The eight team tournament runs Mar. 13 through the 16.
