Men's Lacrosse Falls to Lake Erie, 10-5

PAINESVILLE, Ohio (April 10, 2013) – The Men's Lacrosse team fell 10-5 this evening on the road to the Storm of Lake Erie College.

Despite trailing the entire game, the Redhawks managed to stay within striking distance as they were behind by just three goals at the half.

Lake Erie, however, scored twice early in the third to extend their lead by two, making it an 8-3 game. The Storm would secure the win as two players netted hat-tricks.

For Roberts Wesleyan, five players all scored once including Ian Nash who also had three caused turnovers and six groundballs.

Points leader Dom Cianfarano also scored in addition to notching an assist.

In goal, Matt Hamilton made 11 saves after facing a total of 37 shots. At the 'X', Anthony Nucci Lauria won 14 of 19 faceoffs for the Redhawks.

As a team, the Redhawks were unable to take advantage of seven man-up opportunities while Lake Erie was able to convert two of four opportunities.

The loss drops Roberts Wesleyan to 3-9 overall as they continue non-conference play this Saturday when they travel to face Wheeling Jesuit (W.Va.) University for a 1pm game.
