Comeback Bid Comes Up Short for Men's Lacrosse

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (April 20, 2013) – The Men's Lacrosse team fell to Mercy College this afternoon, 10-7, in East Coast Conference action.

The visiting Redhawks did their best to make it competitive late in the game. After falling behind 8-3 late in the third period, Roberts Wesleyan scored four of the final six goals of the game.

A total of six players scored for the Redhawks, including freshman Dom Cianfarano, who scored twice.  With the two goals, Cianfarano now has a total of 50 points (39 goals, 11 assists) on the season.

In goal Matt Hamilton made 11 saves in a game that saw Mercy put up a total of 34 shots and 21 shots on goal.

Anthony Nucci Lauria won 9 of 18 faceoff attempts for the Redhawks. The sophomore holds a solid .618 wins percentage in his second season for Roberts Wesleyan.

The loss drops the Redhawks to 4-10 overall and 0-5 in East Coast Conference play.

Roberts Wesleyan has two days to prepare for undefeated and top-ranked Mercyhurst University. The Redhawks will host the Lakers this Tuesday at 7pm.
