Men's Lacrosse Host No. 1 Mercyhurst Tuesday

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (April 22, 2013) – The Men's Lacrosse team hosts No. 1 Mercyhurst University in non-conference action Tuesday evening for a 7pm game.
 
SCOUTING ROBERTS WESLEYAN (4-10/0-5 ECC)
The Redhawks dropped a close 10-7 decision to Mercy College on the road this past Saturday. After trailing 8-3 near the end of the third period, Roberts Wesleyan made things interesting by scoring four of the final six goals of the game. A total of six players scored for the Redhawks as Dom Cianfarano scored twice for the visitors.
 
With his two goals, Cianfarano now has a season total of 50 points (39 goals, 11 assists) through 14 games. The freshman is now the program's record holder in both points and goals.
 
Senior defenseman David Michael leads the Redhawks with 16 caused turnovers. Tim Davidson is right behind with 14.
 
SCOUTING MERCYHURST (12-0/6-0 ECAC-DII)
Mercyhurst enters the game with a perfect 12-0 record and a 6-0 mark in the ECAC-DII standings. The Lakers have outscored their opponents 169 to 85 through 12 games this season.
 
Brian Scheetz, a senior from Canandaigua, N.Y., leads the Lakers on offense with 48 points (20 goals, 28 assists) in the 12 games he has appeared in this season. Jake McAndrew is second with 31 points (24 goals, 7 assists).
 
Goalkeeper Michael Grace has logged the majority of the minutes for Merchyhurst this season. The junior holds a 7.94 goals against average while making 101 saves. The 'keeper has a .571 saves percentage.
 
UP NEXT
Roberts Wesleyan will host their final two games of the 2013 season.  This Saturday, the Redhawks will host New York Institute of Technology at 2pm.
 
Next Saturday, the team will close out the season when they square-off with ECC associate member Dominican (N.Y.) College at 2pm.
