ROCHESTER, N.Y. (April 23, 2013) – The Men's Lacrosse team fell to the top-ranked Mercyhurst University Lakers, 10-5, in non-conference action this evening.

The Redhawks tested the Lakers early on by scoring twice in the first two minutes of the game. The goals were just six seconds apart with Dom Cianfarano scoring at the 13:26 mark before Craig Petit scored moments later.

With 1:27 left in the first half, Tyler Kleehammer gave the home team a 3-2 lead off of a Cianfarano assist, but the Redhawks conceded a Lakers goal with just three ticks remaining.

In the second half, Mercyhurst pulled away by scoring four straight and holding Roberts Wesleyan scoreless in the third period.

In the fourth period, London Booker scored twice for the Redhawks, but it wasn't enough as the undefeated Lakers poured in three more goals to seal the victory.

In goal, Matt Hamilton recorded a program record 19 saves in the loss. His previous best was 18 saves, which was set on Mar. 16 in a 7-5 loss to LIU Post.

As a team, the Redhawks were outshot 44 to 21 as the Lakers put 29 shots on goal compared to Roberts Wesleyan's nine.

The loss drops the Redhawks to 4-11 overall as the team has now faced eight teams that have been ranked or had received votes in the USILA Coaches Poll this season.

On Saturday, Roberts Wesleyan hosts No.7 NYIT at 2pm for an East Coast Conference match-up.
