Women's Lacrosse Outlasts SUNY Canton, 15-11

CANTON, N.Y. (April 25, 2013) – The Women's Lacrosse team outlasted SUNY Canton, 15-11, this afternoon in non-conference action.

Lauren Marks put the visiting Redhawks up 1-0 less than a minute into the game before the Kangaroos tie the game less than a minute later. However, freshman Loren Dunn scored three straight goals to put Roberts Wesleyan ahead for good.

In all, Dunn scored six goals to put her at an even 50 goals on the year. The attacker also leads the Redhawks with 51 points (50 goals, 1 assist). Dunn, along with Meredith Smith each notched two caused turnovers.

In goal, Victoria Link recorded a program record 16 saves after facing 30 shots.

Helping the Redhawks on offense was fellow freshman Ali Fox, who scored three goals in the win. Marks added a pair of goals off of just three shots.

Roberts Wesleyan was a perfect 19 of 19 in clears while committing only 12 turnovers compared to Canton's 19 miscues.

The win puts the Redhawks at 7-7 overall as they return home to take on East Coast Conference foe, Queens College this Saturday at 11am.
