ROCHESTER, N.Y. (April 27, 2013) – The Men's Lacrosse team fell 15-5 to No.7 New York Institute of Technology at home this afternoon.
Early goals hurt the Redhawks as the visiting Bears poured in ten goals in the first half with the home team down 10-2 at the break.
Freshman
Dom Cianfarano paced the Redhawks with a game-high four goals, but it wasn't enough for a team that has now dropped three-straight games.
Both teams visited the penalty box often as each side committed 10 penalties in the game. Despite the multiple extra-man opportunities, both teams managed to convert only 3 of their man-up chances.
For the Bears, Cory Triola also scored four goals as Luke Miller and Shawn Murhpy each added three goals apiece.
Matt Hamilton and
Keith Keehn split time in goal for the Redhawks with Hamilton picking up the loss after record nine saves in the first half. Keehn, a freshman, made 11 saves in the second half.
The loss drops Roberts Wesleyan to 4-12 on the year and 0-6 in East Coast Conference play.
Next Saturday, the Redhawks will close out the season when they host Dominican (N.Y.) College at 2pm.
