ROCHESTER, N.Y. (September 11, 2013) – The Volleyball team picked up their first win of the season by defeating Thruway rivals, Le Moyne College, in four sets this evening.
The loss was the Dolphins' first of the season after winning their previous four.
With the victory, Roberts Wesleyan was able to exact a bit of revenge after dropping two five-set matches to Le Moyne last season. Â
Jordan Wilson led the way with a match-high 17 kills in the win, posting an impressive .412 attack percentage.
Judy Schultz and
Kendall Havener each added another nine kills for the Redhawks.
As a team, Roberts Wesleyan finished the night with a .221 attack percentage compared to Le Moyne's .147.
Defensively, Havener led the team with six block assists while freshman
Alexandre Tahauri led with 12 digs, just two more than
Becca Maher.
The win lifts the Redhawks to 1-2 through three matches to the start the year.
Roberts Wesleyan continues their home stand when they host Bloomfield (N.J.) College on Friday at 7pm and the College of Saint Rose on Saturday at 12pm.
