Women's Soccer Begins Homestand with Games This Weekend

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (September 19, 2013) – The Women's Soccer team opens East Coast Conference play this weekend as they host Molloy College on Friday and Queens College on Sunday.
 
The Redhawks host Molloy at 5pm on Friday and Queens at 1pm on Sunday.
 
SCOUTING ROBERTS WESLEYAYN (3-2-0/0-0-0 ECC)
The Redhawks hope to continue their strong play at home as the team remains undefeated through three games. In fact, Roberts Wesleyan has also out-scored their opponents at home 11-1.
 
Bella Mitrevski, a freshman, leads the East Coast Conference with her five assists. She also leads the conference with 11 points (3 goals, 5 assists).
 
Senior forward Brittany Foster is tied for second in the ECC with her three goals along with Ellie Swan and several other players.
 
In goal, Marissa Sell enters ECC action with 22 saves, placing her third in the conference.
 
SCOUTING MOLLOY (0-4-0/0-0-0 ECC)
Molloy enters conference play searching for their first win of the season. In last year's meeting against the Redhawks, the Lions fell to Roberts Wesleyan, 1-0, at home.
 
On offense, the Lions are led by senior forward Allison Sloper as she comes into the game with three points (1 goals, 1 assists) through four games.
 
Goalkeeper Nicole DellaPorta holds a .625 saves percentage and 20 saves for Molloy.
 
SCOUTING QUEENS (3-1-0/0-0-0 ECC)
Queens is playing their first true road games after playing two neutral site games. Last season, Queens downed the Redhawks at home, 1-0.
 
Midfielder Lorena Russi, a senior, leads the Knights thus far with six points (3 goals).
 
In goal, Mersina Onesto has been solid with a .867 saves percentage and has earned three shutouts through four games.
 
UP NEXT
The Redhawks continue their home stand as they hose rivals, Daemen College, next Saturday at 1pm. The game is a part of the College's Homecoming festivities.
