Women's Soccer Dominate Daemen, 4-0

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (September 28, 2013) – The Women's Soccer team remain undefeated at home after picking up a 4-0 win over Daemen College this afternoon.

The Redhawks, who were playing in front of a large Homecoming crowd, have now won all six of their games at home this season.

Roberts Wesleyan's Kristina Roberts scored the first goal of the game in the sixth minute after sending a rounded shot past the Wildcats' goalkeeper Kathryn Haessner.

Senior forward Brittany Foster then scored twice with the goals coming in the 50th and 57th minutes to help the Redhawks pull away from the Thruway rivals.

Jackie Corbett rounded out the scoring in the 69th minute when the junior sent a shot from outside the 18-yard box to the back of the next to make it a 4-0 game.

In goal, Marissa Sell continued her stellar play by picking up her fifth shutout of the year for Roberts Wesleyan.  In the game, the junior recorded seven saves to earn the clean sheet.

As a team, the Redhawks outshot Daemen 24 to 9 while placing 11 shots on goal.

The win improves Roberts Wesleyan to 6-2 overall and are 3-0 in East Coast Conference play.

Roberts Wesleyan is back in action when they travel to take on LIU Post next Friday, Oct. 4 at 3:30PM.
