ROCHESTER, N.Y. (September 5, 2013) – New head coach
Bobby McColl and the Women's Soccer team got the 2013 season off to the right start, defeating Le Moyne College, 3-0.
The non-conference game was dominated by the home team with goals coming from
Ellie Swan,
Brittany Houghton, and Isabella Mitrevski.
Swan got things going in just the second minute of play, sending a grounder to the left side and beating Le Moyne's Kayla Werthmann, who found herself off her line.
In the 38
th minute, Houghton blasted a shot to the upper right corner from 20 yards out to make it a 2-0 lead.
Just three minutes later Mitrevski, a freshman, weaved through several players before tapping the ball past the goal line with the outside of her foot, bouncing the ball off the right post.

Marissa Sell earned the win after recording four saves for the Redhawks.
The season opening win was the first since the 2010 season when Roberts Wesleyan downed Fresno Pacific (Calif.) University by the same score.
The Redhawks are in action Friday evening when they host Bloomfield (N.J.) College at 7pm.
