Women's Soccer Beats Bloomfield, 4-1

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (September 6, 2013) – Roberts Wesleyan won 4-1 this evening against Bloomfield (N.J.) College in non-conference action at home.

The Redhawks, who improve to 2-0-0 on the early season, jumped ahead early when Isabella Mitrevski scored in the seventh minute off of a pass from Ellie Swan.

Six minutes later, the pair traded places with Swan scoring the second goal of the game off of a feeding pass from Mitrevski.

The Deacons responded in the 27th minute when Mikie Bradley sent a 20-yard blast past and outstretched Marissa Sell, to give the visitors some hope.

The scoreline would stay 2-1 for most of the game until the 84th minute when Brittany Houghton found herself in open space and was able to shoot it past Bloomfield's Shashagay Spence.

Brittany Foster added a fourth goal for the Redhawks just three minutes later.

As a team, Roberts Wesleyan put 18 of their 27 shots on frame, forcing Spence to make 14 saves for Bloomfield.

Up next for Roberts Wesleyan is a trip to Albany as they prepare to face the College of St. Rose. The Golden Knights are currently ranked #4 in the nation.
