Rochester, N.Y. ( January 10, 2014) – Roberts Wesleyan Men's Basketball team took down the District of Columbia Firebirds this evening 84-52 in conference play. This was the first game for Roberts coming off of a break from the holidays.
The Firebirds struggled early on, low in numbers, they totaled only 6 players. Roberts was able to capitalize on this and used the full extent of their team.  Roberts ended the first half 34 – 18. Dist of Columbia never saw the lead.
Roberts pulled away further in the second half. Isaac Medieros lead the game in scoring with 19 points he also added 6 rebounds. Freshman
Darren Dixon also scored in the double figures adding 10 points. Â Tyrell Dixon lead Roberts in rebounds totaling 7 rebounds. The team as a whole contributed to the success of the game.
As a whole Roberts stifled Dist of Columbia by shooting 53.8% from the field, 58.8% from long range and 40% from the line. The win advances Roberts record to 7-5 and 3-3 in the conference.
