FLUSHING, N.Y. (Oct. 19, 2014) – The Men's Soccer team gave head coach
Mark Fish his 99
th career win with a 1-0 result on the road against Queens this afternoon.
The lone goal came from sophomore
Malcolm Shaw in the 34
th minute of play in the form of a header after receiving the ball off a free kick from
Alex Harling. The goal was Shaw's second of the season.
Goalkeeper Micheal Scavone kept the Redhawks on top as he made a total of eight saves in the game, five of which came in the second half.
The home-standing Knights pelted Roberts Wesleyan's goal with a total of 18 shots compared to the Redhawks' five shots.
The win puts the Redhawks at 8-4-2 overall and 4-4-0 in conference play. The team currently sits in fifth place in the ECC standings with just two conference games remaining as they host the top two teams, NYIT and LIU Post in two weeks.
Up next for Roberts Wesleyan is a trip to the Southern Tier as they will visit Alfred State on Oct. 24 at 6pm.
