ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Dec. 10, 2014) – Senior forward
Michael Cunningham has capped off his final season with a spot on the
NSCAA/Continental Tire NCCAA Men's Soccer All-America First Team.The Derbyshire, England-native had his most successful season with the Redhawks in 2014. Cunningham compiled a career-high 33 points (12 goals, 9 assists) through 21 games as Roberts Wesleyan went 11-7-3 this year.
Cunningham led the team in goals, assists, and points. He also led the Redhawks with two game-winning goals in addition to converting both of his penalty-kick attempts.
This marks the second time Cunningham has been named to the All-America First Team as he earned the same honor after the 2012 season. He is just the third player to have earned NSCAA All-American recognition.
Richard Goddard ('01) was a three-time All-American while Femi Aroungodade ('10) earned was a two-time All-American.
In all, the program has 14 NSCAA All-Americans dating back to 1998.
Ricardo Carvalho of Bethel (Ind.) was named the NCCAA Player of the Year after posting a total of 37 points (12 goals, 15 assists).
