Kissimmee, Fla. (December 2, 2014) – The women's soccer team came out on top this afternoon with a 2 -1 win against Judson University at the NCCAA National Championships.
The first half ended scoreless for the fairly evenly matched teams, but just two minutes into the second half, forward
Bella Mitrevski found the back of the net off a pass from
Jodi Kester. The goal is Mitrevski's 17
th giving her 40 points.
Roberts Wesleyan struck again in the 53
rd minute. Taking advantage of one of the Redhawks four corners,
Samantha Moreno knocked the ball in from inside the six yard box.
Judson University didn't give up, in the 58
th minute Angela Bianchi finished off a cross by Blanca Rubio. In the end the Redhawks were able to hold on to their lead.
The game was physical with a total of 23 fouls. Both teams put on the pressure with Roberts Wesleyan taking 12 shots and Judson University taking 11.

Marissa Sell made four saves to give the Redhawks the edge over Judson University.
As group play wraps up, Roberts Wesleyan is waiting on the results of tomorrow's matchup between e Judson University and Lee University to see if they can make it into the finals.
